The Dasher Gandhi Sewage Treatment Plant Project is designed and constructed by China Hydropower Engineering Consulting Group Corporation. The owner of the project is the Dhaka City Water Authority. The construction funds are preferential loans from China, and the contract value is about 280 million US dollars. Beijing Guohuan Tsinghua Environmental Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. will design and build the landmark building of the main sewage treatment plant - the sludge drying and incineration workshop.

The project is located on the outskirts of Dhaka, with a sewage treatment scale of 500,000 cubic meters per day. After the project is completed, it will become the largest sewage treatment plant in Bangladesh and even in South Asia. It is also the first sewage treatment plant in Bangladesh that uses China's foreign aid preferential loan, adopts China's advanced technology and is built by a Chinese company. The level of infrastructure is positive.
